2026 AMPP Eastern Conference Brings Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion Solutions to Myrtle Beach

Technical program explores cathodic protection, coatings, inspection, data analytics and asset integrity

MRYTLE BEACH, SC, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Pipeline systems are evolving as operators confront aging infrastructure, changing operating environments, new technologies and emerging energy applications. The 2026 AMPP Eastern Conference, taking place Oct. 19–21 in Myrtle Beach, will bring the industry together to examine what those changes mean for corrosion control, pipeline integrity and long-term asset performance.

Hosted by the AMPP Carolinas Chapter, the conference centers on the theme “Pipeline Integrity,” focusing on protecting what moves energy forward.

“Pipeline integrity depends on people being able to share what they are seeing in the field, learn from one another and apply that knowledge to the challenges they face every day,” said Don Mitchell, Mears Group Inc., Conference Chair. “The Eastern Conference creates that opportunity by bringing together professionals from across the industry for technical education, practical discussion and relationship building.”

Pipeline integrity, corrosion control and emerging technologies
The technical program features presentations from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the local 8-1-1 office, as well as discussions with pipeline owners, including confirmed speakers from Enbridge and Colonial. It will address both established corrosion-control practices and issues reshaping pipeline and energy infrastructure. Topics include cathodic protection, protective coatings and linings, inspection, material selection, AC interference and reconductoring, regulatory updates and emerging areas.

Josh Schmeisser, MESA Products, Technical Program Co-Chair, said the range of topics reflects the increasingly complex decisions pipeline integrity professionals face.

“Today’s integrity challenges rarely fit neatly into one technical discipline,” Schmeisser said. “Coatings, cathodic protection, interference, inspection, data and operating conditions all affect how we understand asset performance. Bringing those perspectives together helps professionals look at the system more comprehensively and make better-informed decisions.”

In addition to technical sessions, attendees will have opportunities to connect with peers, manufacturers, service providers and other industry professionals through the exhibit hall and conference networking events.

The conference also includes a co-located rectifier course on Monday, Oct. 19, covering rectifier operation, functions and basic troubleshooting through lecture and hands-on instruction. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, AMPP will offer Basic Corrosion Overview: An Overview, an additional education course following the conference program.

Networking and community activities include the AMPP Carolinas Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament, a Welcome Reception in the exhibit hall, an Exhibitor Happy Hour and a Tuesday evening social.

The conference is designed for engineers, asset owners, operators, inspectors, contractors, consultants and corrosion and coatings professionals involved in pipeline integrity, energy infrastructure and asset performance. Professionals from across North America and around the world are welcome to attend.
