Its AI tools help architects, engineers, developers and homeowners identify code issues in building plans before submitting permit applications. Its website is now permavia.ai.
Permavia reviews architectural and engineering drawings and supporting documents against local and international building codes (IBC), fire and zoning codes. It flags potential issues, cites the relevant code sections and recommends changes to help customers prepare more complete, code-compliant applications. The company also works with municipal governments to pre-screen applications before plan review.
Founded in 2024, Permavia reviews residential permit plans today and is preparing to launch commercial permit review in partnership with several commercial builders and architects. The name Permavia means “the way of the permit”: perm, for permit, and via, the Latin word for way.
